Move over, sonic cleansing brushes, there’s a new tool in town, otherwise known as the konjac facial sponge. The konjac sponge is a soft washing exfoliator made from the porous root vegetable konjac, which grows in Asia. If you want to gently cleanse your skin without using brushes, scrubs, or other harsh products, this is the perfect option for you.
What is a konjac sponge used for?
A konjac facial sponge is a way to exfoliate the skin to eliminate dead skin cells to expose a more beautiful complexion with results becoming more pronounced the more you use the sponge.
How to use the konjac sponge
Since konjac sponges harden when wet, to use, simply soak the sponge for approximately 10-15 minutes until expanded (if it’s your first time using the sponge). Scrub your face softly in circular movements with the sponge, you can choose to use a cleanser or not. When finished, rinse the sponge until it’s been cleansed and hang to dry overnight.

Benefits
Different active ingredients
Konjac sponges with various colours indicate different active ingredients depending on your skin type. Grey, for instance, will be infused with charcoal, green with green tea, and pink with Himalayan clay.
Makeup remover
They will remove all of your makeup. Konjac sponges, when used with soap and water, extract more makeup than washing your hands alone, the sponges are so soft that you can even use them on your eyes to clear stubborn eye make-up without causing pain.

Environmentally sustainable
Konjac sponges should be composted with your vegetable, meat, and plant waste because they are 100 percent biodegradable. Konjac sponges should be replaced every 4-6 weeks, this equates to 80 makeup wipes which are not biodegradable
Affordable
Konjac sponges are very affordable and typically range from $5 to $20 depending on the quality of the sponge.
